What is your work/business?

Maid Of Socials is a recently launched wedding content creation service here in Australia! In this digital age, where our iPhones have become the lens through which we capture and share our lives, the demand for content has never been higher. And what better occasion to capture than your wedding day—the most special day of your life, where so much love and effort have been poured in? So, Maid Of Socials was born!

To put it simply, we come along to your wedding day and act as your personal paparazzi, capturing all the behind-the-scenes moments of the day. We work in harmony with the photographer and videographer, ensuring every detail is captured and delivered within 24 hours to the couple, ready for sharing on social media right away! Our goal is to ensure that you and your loved ones can remain unplugged and fully immersed and present in the beauty of the day.

What does an average day in your life look like?

After waking up and starting my day with a walk or some physical activity, I'll sit down and map out a to-do list for the day. Typically, my mornings are dedicated to working on my clients social media accounts. This can include posting content, curating social media grids, sourcing new content, editing content, reporting etc. If I'm working from home, I'll usually spend my entire morning on client work.

In the afternoon, I switch gears and focus on Maid of Socials. During this time, I'll have phone consultations with potential brides, prepare proposals, create mood boards + inspo for wedding content, create the content and handle administrative tasks related to running the business.I'm still in the early stages, so there is always a lot to do!

In the evening, I circle back to my social media clients to prepare and share any evening posts / stories and get content ready for the following day. However, every day is different! Some days, I may be shooting weddings, while on others, I could be working on-set capturing content for clients, and on other occasions I may spend days editing all the content from previous shoots. The versatility makes this job super exciting for a creative person like myself.

If you could go back in time and give yourself one piece of advice before starting this role/business, what would it be?

I would tell myself to 100% back myself and just go for it! I pondered on the idea of Maid Of Socials for quite a while and self-doubt definitely held me back from launching earlier.

What is your proudest career moment, as of right now?

For me, my proudest career moment was when I decided to just take the leap to work for myself. After 5+ years working full-time and helping other businesses grow their social media accounts and online presence, I realised that I had the skills and expertise to create something truly special for myself. It was a scary decision to make, but I'm so proud of myself for having the courage and conviction to take the plunge. Being able to use my talents and creativity to build something from the ground up has been incredibly rewarding so far! Maid Of Socials also recently featured in SBS News which was super exciting as a new business owner (first bit of PR woo!).
